This painting was done recently in my studio from a photo I took on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was a fun painting to do, but painting a landscape in the studio from a photographic reference just does not compare to painting on location!
I like your choice of subject matter, not the obvious beach/surf scene. I'm headed there next weekend, I hope I can find something like this to paint, if there's room in the van for my stuff, and if I can sneak away!
