Plein Air!

I've been doing quite a bit of plein air this summer and enjoying every minute of it. I've decided that the heat, humidity, bugs, and countless people asking me to paint them into my picture, are no longer deterrents to me getting out and doing what I love best.

Beckham

This dog portrait of Beckham, is a recent pet portrait that I did for my husband's niece, so it is not a part of my 30 Paintings in 30 Days. I just felt like posting it.

Another small oil (5x7") from my trip to Duluth, Minnesota, last summer.

Cloudscape

A small oil that I painted from a photo I took in Duluth, Minnesota, while visiting my folks. I would love to have painted up there, but wasn't able to bring my paints...and so, had to settle for some reference shots instead.

Shadow

This is a recent painting of my cousin's dog Shadow. Sorry for the glare.

Hazy Day

Another small plein air piece I got the chance to do last Friday. I was going to paint a rather large boat that I saw docked near the edge of the Ohio River, but with no one around, and it being Friday the 13th, I wasn't taking any chances with that. It all seemed a little too creepy for me. So, I settled on this field over at Lunken Airport.

Flower Urn

This painting is a recent plein air that I did in a local park. I painted this late in the day when there was some very nice light outside.
